From the President
A big thanks to I Wayan Kantor for doing last months program. If you
didn't see it you missed a lot of great carvings and also some musical
entertainment. He showed us many of the carving tools from Bali and also
the special way they are used. He brought lots of different types of
carvings and showed us some of the unique wood native to his country.
His musical instruments were very interesting in their construction and
he gave us a demonstration of his skill in playing them. We also learned
about some of the dress and customs of the country. It was a very
interesting and informative program and we thank him for taking the time
to come to our meeting.
Next meeting, bring your carving tools and we will carve a Santa
ornament. I will also have more information on a possible box/flower
carving class. I will try to have pictures and examples.
